Taylor Swift has signed for a club in the 10th tier of the English football pyramid and has already scored a goal.
But it’s not the pop music superstar who is more accustomed to Wembley Stadium.
Instead, the arrival of a male striker with the same name to Widnes Town has caused a stir on social media.
“You read that correctly, no typos here… Taylor Swift signs for Widnes Town,” the club confirmed.
“I’m sure this is the start of a great Love Story.”
Days earlier, Swift — wearing the No. 10 shirt — scored the opening goal in a 2-2 draw with New Mills on his debut.
Striker Swift, with 140 Instagram followers, has approximately 272 million less than the musician of the same name.
Widnes Town play in the North West Counties Division One South but, after seven games this season, are rock bottom and without a win. It’s been a cruel summer, you could say…
