Jose Mourinho‘s first Clásicoagainst Barcelona since returning as Real Madrid coach will be played at Spotify Camp Nou at 9 p.m. local time — 4pm ET — on Sunday, Oct. 25.

Mourinho oversaw some of the most heated Clásicosin modern history against first Pep Guardiola and then Tito Vilanova’s Barça during his first spell as Madrid boss between 2010 and 2013.

He was reappointed as Los Blancos‘ manager for a second time earlier this year with the task of toppling Hansi Flick‘s Barça, who have won back-to-back LaLiga titles.

The match, the biggest fixture in Spanish football, will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ in both English and Spanish.

Both teams have started the new LaLiga campaign in fine fashion, winning all three of their games to date and exhibiting the attacking power they have in their respective squads.

Barça have struck 12 goals in their opening three matches, including five against both Elche and Rayo Vallecano.

Raphinha, playing as a makeshift striker, has netted a league-high five goals, while Lamine Yamal also opened his account for the season with a brace in Monday’s 5-2 victory over Rayo.

Madrid, meanwhile, have scored 10 goals of their own in impressive wins against Malaga, Real Sociedad and Espanyol.

Kylian Mbappé leads the way for Madrid with four goals, but Jude Bellingham (two goals, two assists) and Vinícius Junior (one goal, two assists) have also started the season well.

October’s meeting between the two teams is already a mouth-watering prospect which, even at this early stage of the season, is likely to have consequences in the title race.

The last time the two teams met at Camp Nou, in May earlier this year, Barça won 2-0, clinching the LaLiga title against their rivals in the process.

It continued a pattern of Barça success since Flick’s appointment in 2024.

Under the German, Barça have won six of their last seven competitive matches against Madrid, including the Copa del Rey final in 2025 and back-to-back Spanish Supercopafinals.
