Fiorentina are set to sign striker Beto from Everton for a fee in the region of £15 million ($20m), sources have told ESPN.
Beto, 28, is set to have his medical in Florence on Monday. His departure could prompt an Everton move for United States forward Folarin Balogun. Sources have told ESPN the Premier League side are monitoring Balogun but any move is dependent on who leaves before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
It’s been another busy summer for Everton and there are still plenty of moving parts ahead of Tuesday’s deadline. Iliman Ndiaye has been linked with a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur, with Richarlison possibly moving in the opposite direction in a separate deal. Sources have told ESPN that Richarlison is still weighing up his future. If Ndiaye and Beto both depart, ESPN sources say Everton could potentially move for both Richarlison and Balogun.
The Beto section of that transfer puzzle appears to be reaching a conclusion. Beto joined Everton from Udinese in 2023 for a fee around £25m and has scored 25 goals in 113 appearances for the club.

“Richarlison, I don’t know. He said too many times he wants to leave,” Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi said at the weekend.
“If they want to leave, they have to bring the solution, the economic solution, to the club, and they can go, and we find other players.”
Everton fans chanted against reports that Harrison Armstrong could move to Nottingham Forest.

Boss David Moyes understood the fan reaction, saying: “I think you always have to consider supporters; supporters aren’t always wrong.
“But then there’s also times where I’ve had people at clubs who are really powerful and make difficult decisions.
“I’d bring into that Bryan Gray, who was at Preston North End, and Sir Philip Carter, who was at Everton when I first came in. Not always decisions are popular, and sometimes they have to do it for different reasons.

“Managers have to make decisions on players sometimes and they feel like huge decisions. But there’s sometimes bigger decisions to be made and the club will, I’m sure, make what they think is the right one.
“If I’d say something to them [the fans], I’d say their manager’s an Evertonian.”
