Canada Striker Jonathan David has joined Atlético Madrid on a season-long loan from Juventus on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old joined Juventus last year after five years at Lille. He scored six goals in 36 appearances in Serie A for the Italian giants last season.
The future of Julián Álvarez at Atlético has been a source of speculation all summer, although the Argentinian striker returned to group training on Sunday.
The club continues to stand steadfast in its refusal to sanction the transfer of Álvarez to Barcelona.

David’s exit comes after Juventus confirmed the signing of Germany striker Nick Woltemade on loan for the season from Newcastle United.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, David is Canada’s all-time leading scorer with 42 goals in 82 appearances. He scored three goals in this summer’s World Cup as Canada reached the round of 16.
