Former Leicester forward Jamie Vardy has joined Burnley for the remainder of the season, the club announced Sunday.
Vardy, 39, most recently played for Cremonese in Serie A last season — although the Italian side were relegated to Serie B at the end of the season.
The striker is best known for his time at Leicester. He spent more than a decade with the east Midlands club and famously won the Premier League there in the 2015-2016 season.
During Vardy’s time at Leicester, the Foxes also won the FA Cup and reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
Vardy won the Premier League Golden Boot in the 2019-20 season.

He left Leicester at the end of the 2024-25 season, with his final game for the Foxes coinciding with the 13th anniversary of him signing for the side. The club was relegated from the Premier League that season and have since dropped down into League One.
In a statement on Burnley’s website, Vardy said:
“I’m really happy to now be here at Burnley FC. This club has a proper footballing history and passionate fans who deserve a team that represents them and their town.
“I can’t wait to get going on the pitch and help the team move in the right direction.”

Burnley head coach Nicky Hayen expressed excitement about Vardy’s arrival and said to club media:
“We are delighted to welcome Jamie to Burnley FC. His experience and leadership will be invaluable to our squad, and we believe he can make a significant impact on our campaign.
“Jamie has a proven track record, and we are looking forward to seeing him in a Claret shirt.”
Burnley, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, are currently sitting rock bottom of the Championship table, win no wins in five matches so far this season.
