Deyna Castellanos is set to join Liga Femenil powerhouse Tigres after agreeing to leave the Portland Thorns, sources have told ESPN.
The Thorns announced on Wednesday that the “club has reached a mutual contract termination” with the Venezuela international.
“The Portland Thorns are grateful for the time and effort Castellanos displayed as a member of the club and wish her the best moving forward,” the NWSL side said in a statement.

According to sources, Castellanos is already in the northern Mexican city of Monterrey and will soon undergo a medical before signing her contract on Thursday.
Castellanos, 27, will fill the void left by Spain midfielder Jenni Hermoso, who left Tigres last month after three seasons in Mexico to rejoin Atlético Madrid.
Castellanos’ move to Mexico concludes a two-team stint in the NWSL, following her time with Portland across the 2025 and 2026 seasons, and Bay FC during the 2024 campaign. Prior to the NWSL, the Venezuelan star played for Manchester City and Atlético Madrid.

Castellanos first burst onto the global stage in 2017 when she was named a finalist for The Best FIFA Women’s Player award while still playing college soccer for Florida State.
