Netherlands confirm World Cup 2026 squad: Jeremie Frimpong out, Crysencio Summerville picked

Liverpool’s Jeremie Frimpong has been left out of the Netherlands squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Crysencio Summerville of West Ham United has been picked despite not yet making his international debut.

The three-times runner-ups can call on experienced duo Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk and Corinthians striker Memphis Depay.

Premier League players include goalkeepers Robin Roefs (Sunderland) and Bart Verbruggen (Brighton), defenders Nathan Aké (Manchester City), Jorrel Hato (Chelsea), Jurriën Timber (Arsenal), Jan Paul van Hecke (Brighton) and Micky van de Ven (Tottenham), midfielders Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool), Mats Wieffer (Brighton) and Tijjani Reijnders (Manchester City), and forwards Brian Brobbey (Sunderland), Cody Gakpo (Liverpool), Justin Kluivert (Bournemouth).

Lutsharel Geertruida and Ian Maatsen are on standby in case of injury.

The Netherlands went unbeaten in qualifying for this summer’s World Cup in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

They have been drawn in Group F and will play Sweden, Japan and Tunisia.
