Manchester United have agreed a deal with Atalanta for midfielder Éderson, sources have told ESPN.
Atalanta have accepted an initial £35m ($47m) fee with another £4m in potential performance-related add-ons for the 26-year-old.
Éderson is set to sign a contract until 2030 with the option of another year.
He will become United’s first signing of the summer and the first since Michael Carrick‘s appointment as permanent head coach.

Sources have told ESPN that United have been tracking Éderson for a while and were able to move quickly after a proposed move to Atlético Madrid stalled.
The Brazilian has made 180 appearances in four years at Atalanta and has won three international caps. The deal will be wrapped up after he completes his medical.
With a deal for Éderson agreed, United are set to step up their interest in West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes.

Sources have told ESPN that United have already made contact with West Ham about a potential deal for the 21-year-old, who is expected to leave the London Stadium after relegation to the Championship.
United are also interested in adding a left-back to their squad this summer with doubts about whether Luke Shaw will be able to handle a workload of three games in a week in both the Premier League and Champions League this season.
Meanwhile, sources have told ESPN that goalkeeper Andre Onana, who spent last season on loan at Trabzonspor, plans to return to Carrington for preseason training this summer if another move away has not already been agreed. The 30-year-old has been told he is not part of United’s plan for next season.
