Barcelona have completed the signing of João Cancelo after the full-back terminated his contract with Al Hilal.
Cancelo, 32, has agreed a three-year contract with Barça to become the Spanish champions’ fifth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi, Jesse Bisiwu and Rodri.
It is the third time the Portugal international has joined Barça, although it is the first time he has penned a permanent deal at Spotify Camp Nou.
He previously spent the 2023-24 campaign on loan at the club and returned again in January of this year for a second loan spell.

Cancelo is able to play on either side of the back four, or even as a winger, although it is on the left where he was used most frequently by coach Hansi Flick last season.
He will provide competition for Alejandro Balde and youngster Jordi Pesquer at left-back, with Jules Koundé, Eric García and Xavi Espart the current options at right-back.
After coming through the ranks at Benfica, Cancelo went on to play for Valencia, Inter Milan and Juventus before joining Manchester City in 2019.

Following a loan spell with Bayern Munich in 2023, he joined Barça for the 2023-24 season before moving to Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal.
He returned to Barça for a second time last January, helping the club win the LaLiga title as he became the first player this century to win four of Europe‘s top five leagues.
In addition to the Spanish top flight, he has also won the leagues in England, Italy and Germany, as well as the Primeira Liga in Portugal.
