Manchester City have completed the signing of winger Iliman Ndiaye from Everton on a five-year contract, the club announced Tuesday.

City will pay a transfer fee of £60 million ($81 million) plus £5 million ($6.7 million) in add-ons, sources told ESPN.

City turned their attention to Ndiaye after their interest in Liverpool‘s Cody Gakpo didn’t result in a transfer. Ndiaye was of interest to Tottenham but has instead arrived at City.

The Senegal international becomes a new option on the wing, after Sávio and Omar Marmoush left to join Spurs. Allan Elias also provides competition in wide areas for City after joining from Palmeiras.

“I’ve worked my whole life for an opportunity like this,” Ndiaye told the Manchester City club website.

“City are one of the best clubs in the world and I’ve seen them win everything as I’ve grown up.

“To be able to write my own chapter in a story that special is the chance of a lifetime and I’m determined to grab it with both hands.”

Ndiaye started both of Everton’s two Premier League games so far this season, as well as their Carabao Cup win over Preston North End.

The forward spent two years on Merseyside after joining from Marseille, and scored 17 goals in 74 appearances.
