Stoke City is in the final stages of acquiring Houston Dynamo and United States international midfielder Jack McGlynn for a fee of up to $5.5 million including add-ons, sources confirmed to ESPN.
Houston will also retain a sell-on percentage of the contract in any subsequent transfer. One source told ESPN that McGlynn is in England to undergo a medical.
If McGlynn passes the exam, he will sign with Stoke.
The Athletic was the first to report McGlynn’s pending move.

McGlynn, 23, has been with the Dynamo for part of the last two seasons, scoring nine goals and 15 assists in 51 matches across all competitions. A broken foot he sustained in September of 2025 hindered his time with Dynamo.
A native of Middle Village, N.Y., McGlynn came up through the academy of New York-based youth club BW Gottschee, before joining the Philadelphia Union’s academy in 2019. McGlynn is known for his vision as well as his ability to shoot from distance.
He made his first team debut in April of 2021 against Deportivo Saprissa in the Concacaf Champions League.

He made his MLS debut against Inter Miami 10 days later. He was acquired by the Dynamo prior to the start of the 2025 MLS regular season.
At international level, McGlynn has made 13 appearances for the USMNT, scoring two goals. He was part of the squad that reached the final at the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup.
