Tirana is hosting American rapper Kanye West’s concert today, one of the biggest music events of the decade. The concert will take place at Eagle Stadium, a purpose-built venue with a capacity of 60,000 spectators, located along the Tirana–Durrës highway. To facilitate access for cconcert attendees, authorities have introduced a dedicated shuttle bus service and are advising attendees to avoid using private vehicles, opting instead for the dedicated transport service or the city’s public transport network.
The dedicated shuttle buses to Eagle Stadium will begin operating at 3:00 PM. They will depart from behind the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet, in Skanderbeg Square, every 20 minutes. The fare is 100 albanian lek, payable in cash only. Concert attendees may also use several existing public bus lines, including City Park, Tirana e Re, Kashar, and Instituti.
Meanwhile, traffic restrictions will be in effect from 7:00 AM until midnight on several roads around the venue. The Durrës–Tirana secondary road will operate as a one-way outbound route
From 7:00 AM until midnight, vehicles will not be allowed to enter Tirana via the secondary road stretching from the Eiffel complex to Casa Italia. This route will remain open only for outbound traffic. The Tirana–Durrës motorway will remain fully open.
From 12:00 PM, traffic will also be restricted around the stadium, including the area near Casa Italia, Pavarësia Street, and Sokrat Miho Street. During the same time period, Sokrat Miho Street, Kasem Shima Street, and 7 Nëntori Street will operate only in the outbound direction. As there is no parking available near the venue, attendees are advised either to be dropped off by car, with vehicles leaving the area immediately afterward, or to travel by taxi.
The concert is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM. Police officers will be on site to manage both the arrival of ticket holders, who will be allowed to enter the stadium from 6:00 PM, and the departure of fans after the event, with traffic management continuing until midnight.
