Everton have submitted a deal sheet with the Premier League to seek a two-hour extension to the transfer deadline to complete a move for United States forward Folarin Balogun, sources have told ESPN.
Having agreed a £40 million ($54 million) deal with Monaco for the 25-year-old on Monday, Everton’s move for the striker looked to be off earlier on Tuesday due to concerns over the player’s medical.
But Everton and Monaco have held talks to renegotiate the terms of the deal and sources have said that it is now moving towards completion.

Everton had a loan move for Joshua Zirkzee rejected by Manchester United as they sought an alternative to Balogun should the deal collapse.
But despite the transfer window closing at 3 p.m. ET (11:00 p.m. BST), Premier League rules allow clubs an additional two hours to complete deals if they are already underway and Everton have now lodged a deal sheet requesting this extension.

Balogun scored 24 goals across 74 appearances since joining Monaco in 2023, including a stellar campaign in last year’s Champions League where he scored his first European goal against Bodo/Glimt in November of 2025 and had a brace in a 3-2 knockout round loss to Paris Saint-Germain in February.
He was also a key figure for the United States in its run to the round of 16 at the World Cup, where the Americans lost to Belgium.
