Jack Grealish re-joins Everton on loan from Man City

Everton announced Tuesday that midfielder Jack Grealish is returning on loan from Manchester City for the 2026-27 Premier League season.

Grealish spent last season on loan at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but his campaign was cut short by a foot injury.

He made appearances for Enzo Maresca‘s City this season — coming off the bench against Arsenal in the Community Shield and Bournemouth in the Premier League — but has now rejoined Everton.

“It feels so good. I’m so happy. I think I’m at my best at everything in life, not just football, when I feel loved,” Grealish told Everton TV. “That’s what the manager has given me, what my teammates have given me and especially what the fans have given me.

“Every time I see an Everton fan, it’s just pure love and the way they’ve welcomed me since that first game against Leeds, I’ll never forget that. It means a lot to me and hopefully I’ve made a few Everton fans happy.”

Last season Grealish played 20 league games for Everton, registering six assists and scoring two goals for David Moyes’ side, but injury ruled out any hope of making England‘s World Cup squad.

Now 30, he has another season on Merseyside to recapture the form which prompted City to spend £100 million to sign him from Aston Villa in 2021.

Everton opened their Premier League campaign with a win over Crystal Palace before drawing with Bournemouth and sit in seventh place in the table.

Grealish’s arrival comes on a day on which four players left Everton.

Iliman Ndiaye moved in the opposite direction as he completed a £65 million move to Man City while another forward, Beto, who scored nine Premier League goals last season, has joined Serie A side Fiorentina.

Defender Nathan Patterson has also headed to Italy to join Torino, while midfielder Tim Iroegbunam has moved to newly-promoted Hull on a five-year deal.
